2021 Call of Duty League Championship Results!

Playoff excitement was with the fans and among the teams that finished the regular season and managed to stay in the top eight in the 2021 Call of Duty League (CDL) season, commonly known as CoD Champs.

After a few months and five stages of the regular season, the top eight teams in the league fought fiercely between August 19-22 for their share of the $2.5 million prize pool. Atlanta FaZe won out of eight teams in the tough championship race and became the 2021 CDL Champion and received the $ 1.2 million prize. Now let’s take a look at all the results we have compiled for you in our article.

The CoD Champs 2021 event, which took place at the Galen Center in Los Angeles between 19-22 August under the shadow of strict coronavirus measures, witnessed great excitement. In the event, which was a big question mark whether the fans could attend or not, it was decided to let the audience into the event at the end. Still, very strict COVID protocols were applied throughout the event. However, many people who could not attend or did not have the opportunity were able to watch the entire event on the official Call of Duty Youtube channel simultaneously.

Now, let’s take a quick look at the teams that managed to make it to the top eight in the 2021 Call of Duty League, which took place even though it was difficult under the Covid-19.

Atlanta FaZe Legend

Atlanta FaZe, which managed to be in the top eight by competing in the Stage Five Major a few weeks ago, dominated the regular season and won three of the five Majors in total in 2021.

In this way, they had great success by qualifying for the Playoffs as the number 1. Although some had questions about the team at the beginning of the season, Atlanta FaZe never gave up the fight and they managed to become champions by putting in their best efforts. Atlanta, who won their first match with a score of 3-0 against New York Subliners, started the tournament quite assertively. Then, faced with another tough opponent, Dallas Empire, Atlanta did not break their composure again and continued on their way with a 3-0 result. We can say that the only game that was difficult for Atlanta, who faced Toronto Ultra in the final, was the Grand Final match. However, Atlanta managed to become the champion by winning this match with a score of 5-3.

Having perhaps one of the best comebacks in the history of the Call of Duty League championship, Minnesota RØKKR became one of eight teams to compete in CoD Champs 2021 as the last Major champion. However, they faced a rather tough first-round matchup against Dallas Empire, which won last year’s CDL Championship. Although it was an unfortunate first-round matchup for Minnesota, Minnesota managed to win the hearts of their fans with their delightful play in the rest of the tournament. But there were no surprises in the Dallas Empire vs Minnesota game. Dallas easily won the game 3-0.

Three Times in A Row

Clayster, who was one of the players in the Dallas Empire roster last 2020, fought for the third consecutive world title with the New York Subliners this year. The 29-year-old veteran later started to play in New York’s CoD Champs first roster after a brief hiatus at the end of stage five. In the opening game of New York Subliners against OpTic Chicago, he helped his team to win the match 3-2 with his effective play.

The Los Angeles Thieves and Florida Mutineers, who finished seventh and eighth during the regular season, started the Playoffs in the Loser’s Bracket. Of course, each team wanted to become world champions and get their share of the $2.5 million grand prize. Although everything went well for Atlanta FaZe, unfortunately, we cannot say the same for every team.

Now let’s take a look at the results of the 2021 Call of Duty League Championship together.
