Aliens: Fireteam Gameplay Footage & Details Released

Cold Iron Studios has been working on Aliens: Fireteam for some time now. Finally, we have some solid ideas about what this game is all about. The game takes place in the Alien franchise after the 3rd movie. The game is a team based third person shooter. You can watch the trailer and the 25 minutes of gameplay down below:

As you can see, Aliens: Fireteam seems to be inspired by the Left 4 Dead series. You and 2 squadmates will try to complete different objectives while also trying to repel the xenomorphs that attack your squad in waves.

After watching the 25-minute video above, I can say that the producers of the game captured the atmosphere of the Alien universe perfectly. Alien was a movie series that I admired in my childhood and after watching the gameplay my thoughts drifted to a positive side. However, it saddens me to see such a game in the third person point of view. It definitely should have been an FPS.

Aliens: Fireteam Gameplay Details

There will be a total of 11 xeno types and Weyland-Yutani synthetics in the game. There are 5 classes in the game which are: Gunner, Demolisher, Technician, Doc, and Recon. As the names suggest, it is very clear which class will do what. There will be 4 different story campaigns, each will consist of 3 missions.

The producers of the game emphasize that the game will be difficult. With different difficulty levels, the resources you have will decrease. Settings such as friendly fire will also make the game more difficult. In addition to these, you will have the option of making things even harder with the challenge cards you choose at the beginning of the missions. The higher the difficulty, the better the items you get at the end of the mission. You will be able to play the game with bots if you want, however in higher difficulties the producers recommend that you play with your friends.

Players will start off as a rookie, and over time they will be able to level up their soldiers and unlock new weapons, skills and customizations. The producers said the game will have an extensive arsenal of more than 30 weapons and 70 mods and add-ons.

Aliens: Fireteam will hit the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Windows PC, Xbox One, and Xbox Series S / X platforms in the summer of 2021.
