Alpha 7 Esports Accused of Illegal Drug Use

Geison Greff, CEO of Rise Esports, brought up drug use in the esports industry. In a lengthy post on Instagram, he mentioned that there is ample evidence of controlled drug use by Alpha 7 Esports players, which is prohibited by esports regulations.

Rise Esports and Alpha 7 Esports are two major mobile esports organizations currently competing with each other in Brazil. According to Geison, his evidence indicates that Alpha7 players were doping during the ongoing tournament.

Rise Esports condemned this action and urged Tencent and the court to take action against the alleged criminals. The Alpha 7 team is still a part of this tournament, and Geison has requested that this list be removed until the case is resolved, saying, “I express my dissatisfaction with Alpha7 staying in the championships until proven otherwise.”

The drug allegedly used by Alpha 7 is called Venvanse, and it makes it easier to focus when used. According to the rules of many anti-doping organizations around the world, it is a drug that cannot be used even with a medical prescription.

Alpha 7 Esports did not openly react to this claim or make any statement in any way. They recently replaced top management by appointing new CEOs to the organization, and Rise Geison also reacted to this, urging Tencent to take action to protect the health of the players involved and suspend them until the case is resolved.
