Astralis Acquired by Fusion Esports Group!

According to independent journalist Richard Lewis, Danish esports organization Astralis changed ownership on September 5 and has been acquired by Fusion Esports Group.

Not much is known about Fusion Esports Group, other than the fact that it was officially registered on the same day and that its director, Jakob Lund Kristensen, was the founder and CEO of Copenhagen Wolves between 2012 and 2016, as well as the co-founder of both Astralis and BLAST.

Danish commercial registry records show that Fusion Esports Group is part of JLK HOLDING ApS, which, according to Richard Lewis, has “been inactive for some time.”

Kristensen served as Vice President of Sales at BLAST from December 2016 to August 2019. According to his LinkedIn profile, he later returned to Astralis after RFRSH Entertainment’s competitive division separated, working as Chief Revenue Officer until January 2023.

This news ends months of speculation about Astralis’ future. Back in April, HLTV and Dust2.dk reported that Astralis was actively seeking buyers for the company’s brand, intellectual property rights, and CS division, with former Ninjas in Pyjamas COO Jonas “calc” Gundersen named as one of the interested parties.

Sources told HLTV that the deal is expected to be announced in the coming days. Just last week, Astralis confirmed the return of former team member Emil “Magisk” Reif, who rejoined the roster to replace Martin “stavn” Lund, currently on a break for personal reasons.
