Our representative Aurora secured a spot in the Semi-Finals of the Esports World Cup 2025 after a 2-0 victory against HEROIC.
Aurora, competing in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, swept HEROIC 2-0 in the quarterfinals of the Esports World Cup 2025. With map wins on Mirage (13-7) and Dust2 (13-11), the Turkish squad is now just one step away from the grand final.
On the opening map Mirage, Aurora quickly built an 11-1 lead. During this stretch, İsmailcan “XANTARES” Dörtkardeş dominated with 21 kills and 165 ADR.
Aurora went on to claim the pistol round, putting them on map point. Although HEROIC attempted a short comeback, Aurora’s decisive A-split attack closed out the map 13-7.
Dust2 was much closer, ending the first half in a 6-6 tie. Aurora’s Özgür “woxic” Eker and rising talent Alimzhan “Alkaren” Bitimbai both stood out with 14 kills each.
In the second half, HEROIC managed to take the lead at 11-10. However, Aurora turned the tide with clutch individual performances, stringing together crucial retakes and winning the final round in a 3v5 situation. They closed the map 13-11 and the series 2-0 to advance to the semi-finals.
With his departure already announced, tN1R’s elimination from the Esports World Cup 2025 marked the end of his journey with HEROIC. Rumored to be transferring to Spirit, he had previously eliminated them in the earlier round. Now, he is set to join the very team he knocked out, replacing zont1x.
Aurora will face Falcons in the semi-finals. The Arab representatives, considered the “home team” due to the event being held in Saudi Arabia, have historically struggled against Aurora. Everything points to a fierce battle ahead.
