BBL VALORANT Men’s Team commemorated Turkish citizens who lost their lives in the earthquake that occurred in Turkey before the first match of the VALORANT Champions Tour 2023, and held a minute of silence with the South Korean team DRX.
BBL played its first game to represent Turkey in the VALORANT Champions Tour 2023 LOCK//IN Sao Paulo, which is one of the most prestigious tournaments in the esports world. Before the first match of the tournament, BBL VALORANT Team held a minute’s silence with the South Korean team DRX. With a moment of silence, Turkish citizens who lost their lives in the earthquake that took place in Kahramanmaraş on February 6 were commemorated.
BBL CEO Okan İlker Demirel stated that they were deeply saddened by the incident and made statements regarding the moment of silence before the match. He said, “We are struggling to represent our country in the VALORANT Champions Tour 2023, one of the most prestigious tournaments in the world. We are sad, our minds are in our country and our hearts are with our citizens affected by the earthquake. We are going through difficult times and we need to be united. We wanted to commemorate our citizens who lost their lives in the earthquake by holding a minute of silence with our opponent DRX before the match.”
