BIG has announced that Karim “Krimbo” Moussa has been promoted from BIG’s academy team to the main squad on a permanent basis, marking the first time a player from the German organization’s academy has been promoted. The 19-year-old German replaced Nils “k1to” Gruhne.
Krimbo previously played in the qualifications for the next European RMR event in place of k1to. BIG secured top position in the third qualifying, securing a spot in the regional event, which will take place from April 17 to 20.
At the same time, k1to is expected to continue his career at the academy, where he will have the opportunity to reclaim his position in the main team by returning to peak individual form.
Moussa’s professional career begins in 2019. Prior to joining BIG Academy in January 2020, he had the opportunity to play for German teams such as Planetkey Dynamics and EURONICS, but he did not have much success. The youthful prodigy left the academy in January 2021 to join ALTERNATE aTTaX, but returned a year later.
BIG’s next competition will be Season 15 of the ESL Pro League. The squad will participate in the group stage against Players, Liquid, GODSENT, Movistar Riders, and Party Astronauts.
