BLAST.tv Paris Major will Be the First Event Streamed Live on TikTok!

For the end of the last CS:GO Major in Paris, esports tournament organizer BLAST has partnered up with social media platform TikTok. As part of the agreement, the competition will be live streamed on TikTok for the first time ever, making it the first Counter-Strike event to do so.

Both companies will work together on a number of integrated and customized services on TikTok in an effort to get esports fans closer to the Paris Major. The choice was made, according to a press statement, after the #BLASTTVMajor hashtag for the BLAST.tv Major received more than 100 million platform views.

The 24 top teams in CS:GO have been competing in the BLAST.tv Major for a $1.25 million prize pool and the honor of being the greatest Counter-Strike team in the world. The competition will be broadcast globally in more than 100 regions and 24 languages, and it is anticipated to draw more than 50,000 spectators to the Accor Arena in Paris. Furthermore, Skyesports just made it known that it will be airing the BLAST.tv Paris Major in Hindi.

An exclusive page with on-site reporters and unique insights will be part of the in-app TikTok experience for esports fans during the Paris Major. Additionally, exclusive content will be produced with well-known individuals like LittleBigWhale, Raramuathra, and SwammyXO, among others.

Robbie Douek, CEO of BLAST, talked about the partnership:

The esports world will have their eyes firmly fixed on Paris this week when the world’s best Counter-Strike teams descend onto the French capital to compete for the coveted last ever CS:GO Major trophy. Teaming up with TikTok will allow us to bring fans even closer to the experience with a number of integrated features and exclusive content on the platform.

Robbie Douek, CEO of BLAST

The BLAST.tv Paris Major 2023 marks an important point for CS:GO as competitions will switch from Counter-Strike to Counter-Strike 2, the most modern game in the franchise, starting later this year. The first Counter-Strike 2 Major will be run by PGL and take place in Copenhagen.
