Cyberpunk 2077, which has been struggling with technical problems since its release, has not been on the PlayStation Store for nearly 6 months. However, this is about the change as the game is returning to the PlayStation Store. Cyberpunk 2077, which has had a nightmare year, will be available again on PlayStation Store on June 21, 2021, according to Sony’s official announcement.
For Cyberpunk 2077, misfortunes and subsequent problems have followed the game since its release on December 10. Shortly after the game’s initial release, Sony went a step further and announced that the game had been removed from PlayStation Store indefinitely.
So was it necessary to remove the game from PlayStation Store? I think Sony’s move was pretty unnecessary. The performance of the game was not only bad on PlayStation but it was also quite bad on Xbox too. In that situation, Microsoft did not make a radical a decision like Sony. When all kinds of refunds and conveniences are already provided to players, I think the removal of the game was a rather an unnecessary move. It should be up to players whether to buy the game or not, however Sony didn’t take any chances. Of course, we have to remember, Sony usually does not offer refunds on purchased and played games.
CD Projekt Red had to deal with problems both internally and outside of the company since day Cyberpunk debuted. The company, which has been struggling with hacking, lawsuits, and reimbursements, seems to have put Cyberpunk 2077 back on track, especially on the PC side, when we look back at the past months.
Cyberpunk 2077, has seen major improvements in consoles, and has received huge updates in recent months, reaching 50 GB in size. With the big updates and patches, we can say that the game is relatively stable now, especially on the PC. But it’s hard to say the same thing for the consoles, especially for the PlayStation 4.
Cyberpunk 2077, which has not been on PlayStation Store for about 6 months, will be back on PlayStation Store on June 21. When the game was first removed from the PS Store, CD Projekt Red, refunded the game to around 30,000 players. These payments were also discussed at CD Projekt Red’s general financial meeting. It was stated that the sales performance was greatly affected. However; this campaign was not enough for Sony to reverse its decision.
SIE can confirm that Cyberpunk 2077 will be re-listed on PlayStation Store starting June 21, 2021. Users will continue to experience performance issues with the PS4 edition while CD Projekt Red continues to improve stability across all platforms. SIE recommends playing the title on PS4 Pro or PS5 for the best experience.
Sony Interactive Entertainment
When we look at the warnings that Sony has issued, we understand that; Cyberpunk 2077 is still not enough for the PlayStation 4. Sony says that Cyberpunk 2077 playable on PlayStation 4 Pro or PlayStation 5 without the performance issues. However, this development is still very positive not only for the game but also, of course, CD Projekt Red. Special updates to the PS side are also coming. You can click here for more information.
