EG coach maLeK suspected of using coaching bug

Jaxon.gg assessed that the current Evil Geniuses coach Damien “maLeK” Marcel, was likely suspected of abusing the coaching bug while in G2 Esports four years ago.

The journalists used a tweet from their colleague Dexerto Luis Mira as proof, in which he disclosed one of the bug’s variations, which is presently being investigated by the Esports Integrity Commission (ESIC).

The video didn’t identify any specific teams or players, but FaZe’s Robin “ropz” Kool discovered this moment during the ECS Season 6 Finals match between G2 and Fnatic.

Using a third-person view, the movie depicts how the coach of one of the teams may gather information about the opponents committing to the site. After examining the demo, the journalists deduced that the coach was maLeK, because he was the one who was on the server at the time.

The ESIC’s reaction to such a public analysis using open sources was unknown at the time of release of the material. According to reports, the Commission was close to wrapping up an inquiry against 52 people accused of misusing the bug. The decision is expected before the start of the Major in Antwerp on May 9.
