ESL Turkey CS:GO Championship Invited Teams

As we all know, there are only a few days left until the start of the INTEL ESL Turkey CS:GO Championship. In addition, ESL had already announced all the details, including the tournament dates and the tournament procedure and the new format for this season. In this format we learned that 4 teams were invited and another 4 will compete at open qualifiers. Today, INTEL ESL Turkey announced only three invited teams for the CS:GO Championship.

We know that in the first stage of the tournament, 4 teams would come from the qualifiers that would start on August 28. The second phase of the qualifiers would begin on September 4. In addition, each qualifying phase would take two days. Thus, according to the new format, four teams that proved themselves here would join the four invited teams.  

But of course, firstly the group stage would take place. The 4 teams that proved themselves last season would compete among themselves, and the 4 teams that passed the open qualifiers would compete among themselves. Thus, the top two of each group would advance to the playoff stage. Until the playoffs, all matches would be in BO1 format. In the playoffs, the BO3 format would be the main one. 

However, this seems unlikely to be possible. Because only 3 teams accepted the invitation. Therefore, there are 5 seats left to fill. ESL also stated in a tweet that they will make an announcement on this issue later.

After the teams that accept the invitation, 5 teams will be entitled to participate from qualifiers in the championship instead of 4. How the 5th team will be determined is going to be announced on the qualifiers page as soon as possible.

Teams invited for the INTEL ESL Turkey CS:GO Championship

So, without further ado, let’s take a look at the invited teams. Normally, only teams that were successful in the INTEL ESL Turkey CS:GO Championship winter season playoffs would be invited. However, with this latest change, Eternal Fire, which is at the top of the ESL World Ranking, has also received an invitation.
