Eternal Fire is CCT Malta Finals Champion!

Eternal Fire defeated its arch-rival Bad News Eagles to become the CCT CENTRAL EUROPE MALTA FINALS 1 champion. Under the captaincy of Engin “MAJ3R” Küpeli, the team won the championship after a long, tiring week.

The Story of Eternal Fire CCT Central Europe Malta Finals 1

Eternal Fire fell into a tough group A in the tournament. They were in the same group as their final opponent, Bad News Eagles. In addition to its arch-rival, there were strong opponents such as forZe and HONORIS. In the opposing group, group B, there were remarkable teams such as ENCE, Movistar Riders, Spirit and Sprout.

In group matches, Eternal Fire beat forZe 2-1 and HONORIS 2-0. But they lost 16-14 to Bad News Eagles. Thus, they made it to the playoffs with finishing second behind BNE.

In the playoffs, their rival was ENCE. ENCE finished first in Group B. Eternal Fire did not take pity on their strong opponent. With a 16-9 win in Inferno and a 16-14 win in Vertigo, they sent ENCE to the lower bracket.

Then, Bad News Eagles came again to took Eternal Fire down. Before that BNE defeated Movistar Riders 2-0 in their first playoff match with 16-8 in Overpass and 16-10 in Ancient. BNE made no mistakes in the next round. They managed to beat Eternal Fire 2-1 in a tough match. Eternal Fire got a 16-14 Mirage win but that wasn’t enough. BNE; took a 16-14 Anubis and 16-12 Inferno win.

On the loser’s bracket, Eternal Fire faced ENCE again. Before that ENCE defeated Movistar Riders 2-1 with map wins 16-14 and 16-7 as they relegated to the bottom bracket. Eternal Fire played the same show it did in the first playoff round. They defeated the Finnish team 16-14 at Vertigo and 16-14 at Anubis to advance to the grand finals.

It was time for the grand finals for both BNE and Eternal Fire. Eternal Fire met again with its rival, which they faced 3 times in the tournament and could not defeat. Maps are designated as Overpass and Mirage. The decision map was Vertigo, which Eternal Fire loved. In the Overpass map, Eternal Fire didn’t make much of a mistake and managed to beat it 16-12. However, on the Mirage map things did not go that well. rigoN showed the difference and brought the Mirage map to their team with a score of 16-9. It’s all up to Vertigo, the final map. Both teams could not afford to make a mistake at that point. And they did not let the match go until the time of overtime. But Eternal Fire’s flawless play in overtime took a 19-16 win for them.

After this mind-blowing tournament, Eternal Fire won 50 thousand dollars. In addition, Türkiye were entitled to the CCT Global Finals 2024 ticket. Of course, XANTARES did not forget to be chosen as the player of the match in the finals.

The champion of the tournament won 50 thousand dollars, while the runner-up got 25 thousand dollars. Other teams received $15,000 and $10,000, respectively. In the end 100 thousand dollars were distributed between the first 4 teams.
