Evo Showcase 2021 Canceled Due to COVID-19

The Evo 2021 Showcase, the fighting games event expected to take place in Las Vegas, has been officially canceled due to concerns over the COVID-19 outbreak. The organizers said in a statement that the spread of the Delta variant made it difficult to organize a large event.

The EVO 2021 Showcase would have brought together the top ranked players competing in Evo 2021 Online and compete at the UFC APEX Sports Complex in Las Vegas on November 27 and 28. The EVO 2021 Showcase was to be an invite-only event. There would be a total of 40 players competing for a $125,000 prize pool spread across five games in total.

Unfortunately, fighting game fans will have to wait a little longer. But the good news is that EVO 2021 will return as the EVO 2022 Showcase between August 5th and 7th.
