FunPlus Phoenix awarded the eight-place prize for Masters Reykjavik

Due to the team’s inability to attend, FunPlus Phoenix was granted the eighth-place prize for Masters Reykjavik. The team will get 200 circuit points and a cash award of $25,000 for their efforts.

Following the announcement that FunPlus Phoenix would not be able to attend VCT Masters in Reykjavik, we have made the decision to award FPX the equivalent of an 8th place finish, which is the lowest placement they could have achieved at the event. The team will be awarded 200 circuit points and $25,000 in prize money. Team Liquid, who have replaced FPX, will receive full points and prize money for their placement in Masters 1. This means they will not receive the 55 circuit points previously awarded to them for the 4th place finish in the EMEA playoffs. We are looking forward to watching all the action from VCT Masters 1 with you starting April 10.

FPX recently finished first in EMEA Challengers, however, they were disqualified from Masters Reykjavik owing to their failure to field the required number of rostered players for the live tournament.
