Gambit Esports announced that their VALORANT team will play in the VALORANT Champions Tour as an independent roster. In the next VCT tournaments in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa, the Gambit players have announced that they would compete under the MC3, which stands for Masters 3 Champions.
During this time, esports can continue to serve fans from many different countries and cultures and we sincerely wish for tournaments to continue and players to focus on competition and sportsmanship. We’ve therefore taken the decision to empower out players, Igor “Redgar” Vlasov, Timofey “Chronicle” Khromov, Nikita “d3ffo” Sudakov, Bogdan “Sheydos” Naumov and Ayaz “nAts” Akhmetshin, to take part in the upcoming VCT Competition as an independent team.

The former Gambit Esports team hasn’t competed in an official EMEA VCT match since losing to FunPlus Phoenix on February 18. This is only one of several moves that teams with Russian or Ukrainian companies or players have had to do in order to stay competitive in esports. VCT EMEA was postponed for a week at the commencement of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, and Natus Vincere, a Ukrainian team with Russian players, did not compete in the first weekend of matches following the postponement.
