Guild Esports Partners With Subway

Guild esports, the organisation co-owned by David Beckham, and Subway, one of the world’s largest quick service restaurant chains, have collaborated to create a new content series that delves into the eating habits of esports pros and content creators, as part of a campaign promotes the importance of nutrition and making healthier choices amongst gamers and fans of esports.

The Pro Gamer Sub series, presented by PieFace and former Subway employee turned content creator Natalie, highlights how nutrition is an important facet of Guild’s philosophy both for pros, gaming creators and Academy students as well as a key element in helping players to get the best out of themselves both in and out of gaming.

“Across Guild we work with a number of well-being experts including nutritionists, whose aim is to empower players to get the best out of themselves both in and out of competition. Workshops and content reinforcing the importance of nutrition and how to structure your diet for peak performance are also available within our Academy platform and this series with Subway is a fun and engaging way to bring that to life and promote making better choices.”

The series features Guild team members choosing from a wide range of ingredients to each build their own ‘Pro Gamer Sub’, sharing nutritional benefits of Subway’s menu items, whilst also highlighting how the fresh produce provides the audience with a great way to eat healthily.

The content is the next step in Guild’s commitment to becoming a best-in-class esports organisation, encapsulated across the four pillars of their ethos; Pro-Gaming, Lifestyle, Culture & Academy – with a view to promote a healthy relationship between gamers and food, drawing on Subway’s on values of helping guests make better choices.

The first episode sees pro gamers Stevie and TN25 go head-to-head in a competition to successfully create their very own Subs from scratch. With co-host and former Subway alumni Natalie providing judgement on the delicious Subs they create.

This is the first time the two brands have come together to particularly focus on lifestyle and nutrition within esports & gaming, with the content also forming a foundation for future communications focused towards nutrition.

“This series has been a great opportunity to highlight the choices you can make when considering your own nutrition – a key decision for not just pro esports athletes but also aspiring gamers and fans. At Subway, we’re passionate about our food and how it nourishes our guests is incredibly important.”

Mays Elansari, Head of Marketing EMEA at Subway

All episodes of the Pro Gamer Sub series will be available on Guild Esports Youtube Channel.
