IEM Katowice 2023 Experienced Drop in Views

IEM Katowice 2023 witnessed a significant drop in peak viewership compared to last year’s event.

G2 Esports managed to win IEM Katowice 2023. According to Esports Charts, the highest viewership for this tournament was recorded as 712,534. IEM Katowice 2022, in which G2 also took part in the final, had over 1.1 million viewers. Despite this decline in viewership, IEM Katowice 2023 is the 7th most popular IEM event in Poland. The most popular IEM event is IEM Katowice Major 2019. This event was watched by 1.3 million people. The CS:GO event with the most viewers is PGL Major Stockholm 2021 with 2.7 million.

Despite this low viewership in the tournament, the number of CS:GO players continues to improve. CS:GO broke the all-time record for simultaneous online players on February 11. According to SteamDB, IEM Katowice has surpassed the record set in 2020, with the number of online players surpassing 1.3 million for only the second time before the semi-finals.
