LCS Announces Game Changers Program

LCS, one of the long-established League of Legends leagues, has announced its new program, Game Changers. The aim of this program is to select 10 female players who have proven to be talented in the ranked rankings and make them live the lives of pro players for 2 weeks, thus paving the way for the gender equality in the esports scene to become more prevalent.

LCS Game Changers is a program to support women who are high ELO League of Legends players and work to transition them into our amateur and professional leagues. We understand this process can be daunting to do alone, and we’re excited to host this event that will act both as a training and scouting ground to provide women with more paths into the esports scene. We’ll be selecting 10 women to participate in the program alongside various LCS coaches and staff who will train and mentor them throughout the two week period.

To summarize Game Changers:

  • Interested players can apply to the program by clicking this link.
  • 10 talented female players will be selected and divided into two teams.
  • For two weeks, these players will play daily matches and “live the life of pro players”.
  • With the help of coaches, analysts and other staff, these players will develop like professional players.
  • At the end of the program, the teams will face each other in the Bo5 (who wins 3) series.
  • In this series, players will prove their skills and development to organizations and also establish professional connections.

If you want to participate in the event, you must be:

  • 13 years of age or older.
  • US or Canadian citizens.
  • able to participate in the two-week event.

Player applications begin on August 24 and elections are on September 3. The program itself begins on September 27 and ends on October 8. Interestingly, there won’t be any official broadcast about this program. The reason for this was the security and privacy of the players.
