There have been rumors for a while that Lee “Faker” Sang-hyeok, one of the most famous League of Legends players, would end his esports career. However the player has put an end to all the speculations. 25-year-old legendary mid-laner has re-signed with the T1. The idol of almost every League of Legends player, Faker has been fighting for T1 since 2013. The organization announced the news, on its official Twitter account.
Faker is considered the brand face of League of Legends. He won many trophies in his 8-year career. The legendary mid-laner has won 3 World Championships, 2 MSI Championships, and 9 LCK Championships throughout his career. The successful player who has led the team to success many times has always attracted attention.
He played a big role in the success of T1, which made it to the semi-finals in Worlds 2021. Although he showed a great performance, they couldn’t beat DAMWON KIA, the team of ShowMaker, who is seen as his heir.
T1 CEO Joe Marsh said the following, on his post on social media:
Honored that Faker has chosen to re-sign with T1. These past few days have been a lot of sleepless nights and long conversations with Faker and his team. Excited to continue on this journey together.
We will see a new T1 roster in the 2022 season. The organization parted ways with head coach Son “Stardust” Seok-hee, player development coach Park “Hajinsun” Hyunseon, support Ryu “Hoit” Ho-Seong, jungler Moon “Cuzz” Woo-chan, and mid-laner Lee “Clozer” Ju-hyeon. The tension is rising as the fans of the team are waiting for the new players.
