Liquid has officially signed Aleks “Rainwaker” Petrov from 500, marking their transition towards a European roster.

The 22-year-old player joins the team to fill the void left by Nick “nitr0” Cannella’s departure in May.

This move confirms the rumors that Liquid, a historically North American organization, is now shifting their focus to European arena. This decision signifies a departure from their established brand identity, as they have been represented by NA rosters since entering the CS:GO scene in 2015.

After nitr0‘s announcement of leaving the team, Liquid appears to have chosen to prioritize European imports. This decision is likely influenced by the limited availability of top-tier talent in their region.

Rainwaker, a relatively unknown player in the higher echelons of the CS:GO scene, was selected to replace nitr0. He gained attention while playing for the Bulgarian team 500, which achieved recognition by qualifying for the BLAST.tv Paris Major 2023 Europe RMR B and securing one win. Rainwaker showcased his firepower alongside Hristiyan “REDSTAR” Pironkov, maintaining an impressive 1.14 rating during his time with the team.

Although the signing of Rainwaker indicates Liquid’s move towards a European roster, it does not necessarily mean they will also sign Patsi or form an entirely European team.

With the Rainwaker, here is the current roster of Liquid:

  • Keith “NAF” Markovic
  • Josh “oSee” Ohm
  • Mareks “YEKINDAR” Gaļinskis
  • Jonathan “EliGE” Jablonowski
  • Aleks “Rainwaker” Petrov
  • Damian “daps” Steele (coach
Sadettin Enes
