MAD Lions Become LEC Summer Season Champions

At the beginning of the year, no one expected the MAD Lions team to be this successful. The team, which was expected to be third, fourth, or second place in a season, lifted their second trophy on the big stage and dispelled all the doubts around them.

MAD Lions team, who couldn’t get out of the Worlds play-ins last year and started this year by changing their top laner and jungler, surprised everyone and became the LEC champion and earned the right to go to MSI. The team, which started the Summer Season with overall low performance, closed the season 12-6 and entered the playoff series from the 3rd spot.

Madrid’s lions qualified earned the trophy by beating other major teams in Europe such as G2, Fnatic and Rogue.

Continuing their unbeaten streak in Bo5s in Europe by beating G2 3-1, Rogue 3-0 and Fnatic 3-1 in the grand final, the team lifted their hard earned trophy. They also wrote their names in LEC history as the only back to back champions.

The MAD Lions logo has been added to both spaces in the 2021 column.
