Mid Laner Maoan Suspended from Worlds 2021!

Beyond Gaming‘s mid laner Chien “Maoan” Mao-An has been suspended from Worlds 2021.

The accusations came after the Play-In Round 2 stage, where Beyond Gaming eliminated Galatasaray Esports with a score of 3-2. Beyond Gaming mid laner Maoan was suspending on the charges of betting. There are rumors that several people are involved besides Maoan.

According to a post shared by Caster Jenny “Reirachu” Lee on Twitter, Beyond Gaming owner Xue “DinTer” Hong-Wei said he will remove Maoan from the team before the charges are fully investigated. Reirachu shared a screenshot of the betting proof, which was the focus of the discussions.

Riot Games suspended the mid laner player for breaking the rules.

The article in Riot Games‘ rule book is exactly as follows:

Members of any team or officials of a World Championship event may not directly or indirectly participate in betting or gambling on any outcome of any WCE game, match or tournament.
