The German player who has been with MOUZ for nearly a year and a half will no longer be starting for the team.
Jon “JDC” de Castro, the starting rifler, has been moved to the inactive roster for the upcoming fall season. This decision comes during a period of change for the team, as they are reportedly bringing in Kamil “siuhy” Szkaradek, a former academy player and in-game leader, during the transfer window.
JDC joined MOUZ in March 2022 after being promoted from the MOUZ NXT roster, where he achieved success by winning three WePlay Academy League trophies. He was personally selected by Dennis “sycrone” Nielsen, who joined the team from the academy and reunited with JDC‘s former NXT teammates Ádám “torzsi” Torzsás and Dorian “xertioN” Berman.
JDC‘s transition to the main team had its challenges, as MOUZ failed to qualify for the Antwerp Major and had an early exit at IEM Dallas 2022, finishing in 9th-12th place. However, the team’s fortunes improved during the summer of 2022, reaching the playoffs at IEM Cologne and ESL Pro League 16. JDC performed adequately throughout this period.
Although MOUZ had an impressive semifinal run at the IEM Rio Major, the team’s performance declined at the beginning of 2023. They faced multiple early exits in group stages and couldn’t even reach the grand finals at IEM Dallas. JDC‘s last event with the team saw him achieve a career-high 1.12 rating.
JDC‘s time with MOUZ had its ups and downs, but now he has been moved to the inactive roster, making way for the potential arrival of Kamil “siuhy” Szkaradek.
