NAVI Becomes PGL Major Stockholm Champion!

PGL Major, CS:GO’s most prestigious event, took place in Stockholm this year. The team that won the Major was NAVI. The team beat G2 2-0 in the grand final.

This was NAVI’s first championship in a PGL Major event. The team also showed a great performance by winning in the finals without loosing any maps. NAVI was already the top team on HLTV rankings. It looks like they will continue to be there for some time.

NAVI was a fan favorite team since the first day of the tournament. It is safe to say that they did not disappoint their fans.

The first map in the grand final was G2’s choice, Ancient. Even so, G2 couldn’t bend NAVI’s wrist and take control. The second map was played on NAVI’s choice, Nuke. At first, NAVI was lagging behind. However through sheer will they managed to make the score 15-15. Winning the both maps in a Major is such a huge thing that makes NAVI a legendary tier team.

PGL Major was highly anticipated by CS:GO lovers for about 2 years. During this 2 year period, NAVI has always put its performance on top and reaped the rewards. Considered the best player by almost everyone, Aleksandr “s1mple” Kostyliev added a Major championship under his belt.

In addition, s1mple took 32 kills in the match that ended 16-11 on the Ancient map, leading the team to the victory. He played big on the last map by taking big risks as well. In the last map, Nuke, s1mple took 40 kills and became the face of the championship.

Here are the PGL Major grand final map results;

  • NAVI 16-11 G2 – Ancient
  • NAVI 22-19 G2 – Nuke

Thus, the PGL Major event has came to an end. The champion team got the prize money of $1,000,000 dollars in its bag. G2, on the other hand, finished second and got $300,000.
