NAVI COO Aleksey “xaoc” Kucherov commented on the present situation of the CS:GO squad in the midst of ongoing conflicts in Ukraine in an interview with Dexerto. He mentioned that the Russian players are presently considering a citizenship change.
According to xaoc, NAVI’s 3 Russian CS:GO players, Kirill “Boombl4” Mikhailov, Denis “electroNic” Sharipov, and Ilya “Perfecto” Zalutskiy returned to Russia after IEM Katowice 2022, and they are currently searching for a means to enter the border to join the squad in subsequent competitions.
They think about changing citizenship if possible because they already understand what awaits them in the near future. We are thinking about how best to proceed. We hope that the Russians will still be able to leave the country in the near future. Flights are being canceled, and it is getting incredibly harder to let people out at the border. The situation with visas, whether new ones will be issued, is not very clear. The first few days, the team was in complete shock, but now they have started to realize that there are no other options.

xaoc added that NAVI provides support to the families of Ukrainian players whose still stay on the territory of Ukraine.
We’re trying to help their relatives because it is impossible to do anything when they are in such danger. We are dealing with their future place of residence, traveling, and visas. A lot of things change every day.
