PGL Major Stockholm Will Be a LAN Tournament!

Biggest CS:GO tournament of the year continues to excite the fans. PGL Major Stockholm 2021, where we will watch the best players in the world, will be a LAN event. The Swedish Minister of Culture expressed her views on the subject.

Restrictions in Sweden due to Covid-19 were preventing CS:GO’s biggest tournament from being played as LAN. This situation made CS:GO fans very upset.

The Swedish government has removed this obstacle with the new pandemic decisions it has taken. The decision to ‘lift travel restrictions’ made fans really excited for this coming October. PGL officials see this as the best outcome it can be.

Speaking on the subject, the Swedish Minister of Culture and Democracy also mentioned that Sweden is the leader of esports:

I am glad that this decision now opens up the possibility of holding international esports events even during the pandemic. Sweden has long been a leader in esports, a position we must maintain.

Back to Stage for PGL Major!

There will be no change in the date and time of the tournament. The grand tournament, which will begin on October 23, will be in the 16,000-capacity Avicii Arena. PGL Stockholm, which has a $2,000,000 prize pool will determine its champion on November 7.

The removal of the restrictions will be an important factor for the organization. Because they have until September 15 to make the final announcement of the tournament in terms of venue and time.

With the audience restrictions lifted, we expect a high participation rate. But everything will depend on future restrictions from the Swedish government. In addition, PGL will be the last RMR event of 2021. The qualifiers in a total of 6 regions will determine the 16-32 teams participating in the tournament.
