Riot Games has unfortunately, canceled its All-Star event due to the pandemic.
The Mid-Season Tournament, held in 2021, has been the most-watched event by Riot Games to date. The MSI final, played between DWG KIA and Royal Never Give Up, was a huge success with 23 million viewers. In addition, Worlds, the most prestigious League of Legends event, was held in Iceland this year. Worlds 2021 broke the record with more views than any other Worlds events of all time.
Riot Games was planning to hold All-Star events online. However, the fact that the event was online would not reflect the spirit of the event. Many LoL fans had the opportunity to meet streamers and pro players at the All-Star events. Especially the activities with the fans attracted a lot of attention.
Riot Games has apologized to all its fans for not holding All-Star events this year. The company promised that they will organize more magnificent events for the 2022 season.
