S1mple Shared his Opinion on BLAST Premier World Final 2021!

It became clear why BLAST Premier World Final 2021 was played without an audience. Most likely, many of you have thought of Covid-19 and the Omicron variant. As a matter of fact, this is the most basic excuse of BLAST organizers. But s1mple has a very different claim about the situation.

As you know, Natus Vincere (NAVI) is having a season that marked the history of the CS:GO esports scene. In fact, they have already broken very important records before the end of the year. The CIS (Commonwealth of Independent States) representative won all the LAN tournaments that took place this year.

The champion team of the Stockholm Major, the biggest tournament of the CS:GO esports scene, also broke the record for the prize money won in a year before the BLAST Premier World Final was played.

Oleksandr “s1mple” Kostyliev in a recent Twitch stream provided a very different reason behind the tournament taking place on LAN at BLAST Premier’s studio in Copenhagen. He said:

They (BLAST) wanted to host the tournament (World Final 2021) in some Arab country. But they ended up changing everything, and they did not have enough time to book the Royal Arena (stadium where BLAST Premier: Fall Finals 2021 had taken place). They are required to book the arena in advance, but they simply didn’t have time.

If what the best esports player of the year said is true, it turns out that the organizers didn’t do their job properly. Afterward, it seems like they chose the Covid-19 measures as an excuse for themselves. Whatever the truth, the NAVI team is only focused on the Blast championship.
