On January 31, Sangal Esports faced with Case in the last match of the regular season in Shadow League Season 1.
Until this last match, Turkish representative Sangal Esports played 4 matches in the tournament. In these 4 matches, Sangal got 2 wins (against Unique and Young Ninjas) and got 2 loses (against GamerLegion and Sinners).
A Brief Review of Sangal Esports vs. Case Match
First Map:
The first map of the match was the selection of the Sangal Esports, Inferno. Overall Sangal Esports was the dominant side of the game on the Inferno map. Sangal, started the match with high concentration and coordination. They showed this to their opponent in the first game. Especially in the second half, they didn’t give any chance to breathe to the opponent. Sangal was on the Terrorist side in the first half of the match. They caught a good streak of 5-0. Later, even though Sangal had a short-term performance loss, they finished the first half with a 9-6 lead. In the second half, Sangal caught a good momentum. This caused a great start with a win, 7 out of 8 rounds played. With these results, Sangal won the first map with a 16-7, and became ahead by 1-0 in the series.
Second Map:
The second map in the match was the Train map, which was chosen by Case. Match on the Train map was really exciting for the audience. Both teams played with their maximum efforts. No side created a certain outclass to each other during the match. For this reason, it was very difficult to predict who would win until the last rounds.
Case started the match with a good streak of 6-0 winning. But a response from Sangal didn’t take long to occur, and they caught a 6-0 winning streak. This made the result of the match 6-6. Despite a remarkable comeback from Sangal, they couldn’t perform a good performance in the other rounds. The first half ended with Case leading by 8-7.
In the second half of the match, both teams played their best. However, it was Case who got what they wanted in the second half. The match started in a fast competitive atmosphere, this led to 10-10 state. But after it, 4 round got lost by Sangal Esports, these losses caused a demoralization and economic deteriorations in the team. Things didn’t go well for Sangal after those 4 rounds. In the last moments, Sangal tried to perform good individual performances. But this didn’t help too much, and Sangal lost the second match with a score of 16-11. With this result, status in the series became 1-1.
Third Map:
The third map, Nuke, was played to determine the winner of the series. Sangal started the 3rd map with a confident and strong entrance. The first half of the match was dominated by Sangal, 10-5. This result gave huge courage and morale to the team. In the second half, Sangal maintained a good coordination and team play. This gave them a great upper hand over Case. After a 6 round of winning streak from Sangal, Case was defeated with a clear difference of point against its opponent, 6 to 16.
With this result, Sangal Esports became the lead in the series 2-1, and they earned to participate in Shadow League Season 1 Playoffs.
