Turkish representative Sangal Esports played 2 matches at the European Development Championship 2, on February 9.
The European Development Championship 2, in which 16 teams competed, started on 5 February. The prize pool for the tournament was set at $30,000.
Sangal Esports competed with 2 teams on the same day. They faced first with SKADE and secondly with the HellRaisers team.
The match started with the Mirage map, chosen by SKADE. The second map was determined as Inferno by Sangal. In case of a tie after the 2 matches, the 3rd map was also determined as Dust2. The match was played in Bo3 format.
The first match of the day and the first map start did not do well for Sangal. SKADE team showed a dominant performance in the first half. The first half was won by Skade with a 9-6 lead.
In the second half, the SKADE team increased their dominance and did not give Sangal a chance to breathe. Although the Sangal team tried to do their best, the match broke for them after a while. SKADE lost only 2 rounds in the second half. The SKADE team won the first map with a score of 16 to 8.
With this win, SKADE took the lead 1-0 in the series.
Unlike the first map, Sangal had a good start to the second map. Having caught a 4-round winning streak, gave them a good morale boost. However, the SKADE team once again demonstrated its dominance. They took the lead by winning 6 rounds in a row. In the first half which the competition was at a high level, the effort of the SKADE team made them the winner of the first half. SKADE finished the first half with a 9-6 lead.
Sangal started the second half very determined and fast. The SKADE team tried to do their best. But they could win only 1 round against them. Sangal got a good run. They surprised the SKADE team by winning 10 rounds in a row. Sangal won the map with a 16-10 lead.
With this win by Sangal, the situation was 1-1 in the series.
The third map, which would determine the winner, was of great importance. Sangal started this map with a high tempo and coordination. This situation enabled them to dominate the match. Sangal gave its opponent almost zero chances. By the time the first half was over, Sangal won with a lead of 13-2.
In the second half, only 3 matches were played. Sangal won these 3 matches. With this fast-won map, Sangal brought its status in the series 2-1. This made them the winner of the match against the SKADE team.

The match started with the Inferno map, chosen by Sangal. The second map was determined as Train by HellRaisers. In case of a tie after the 2 matches, the 3rd map was also determined as Nuke. The match was played in Bo3 format.
With the first map of their choice, Sangal got off to a good start. They brought the situation to 7-2 with good gameplay and coordination. However, the disagreements between the team members and the dominance of the opposing team gave them a hard time. The rounds won by HellRaiser brought the situation closer to an even score. Sangal won the first half with an 8-7 lead.
The momentum that the HellRaiser team started in the first half continued into the second half. Their comeback has been a source of morale for them. HellRaisers started the second half with a 5-0 winning streak. They managed to maintain this lead in the following rounds. When the first map was finished, the HellRaisers team won with a 16-13 lead.
This win put them ahead by 1-0 in the series.
Taking lessons from their misfortune in the first map, Sangal made a quick start to the second map. They managed to maintain their superiority in this map very well. They lost only 4 games in the first half. This gave Sangal an 11-4 lead over its opponent at the end of the first half.
Sangal managed to keep the tempo from the first half and they didn’t give any chance to their opponent in the second half also. On this map, they caught a 5-match winning streak and won the map with a 16-4 lead.
With this fast-ending map, Sangal brought the situation in the series to 1-1.
The third map, which was of great importance for both sides, was played on the Nuke map. Both teams started the game with a short streak of wins. The first half was much more competitive than other maps. Both teams were showing that they wanted to win this map. The first half was won by HellRaisers with a 1 point lead, 8-7.
HellRaisers was the side that started well to the second half. They managed to catch a 6-0 winning streak. With this winning streak, the Sangal team became demoralized. They were able to win 4 matches in the following rounds. Although Sangal tried to pull itself together, the HellRaisers team didn’t give them much of a chance. In the third map, the HellRaisers team won with a 16-11 lead.
With this win, the HellRaisers team brought the score to 2-1 in the series.
