Schalke 04 Esports Sold Their LEC Slot!

Schalke 04 Esports, which has been on the agenda with sales and partnerships for the last few months, has sold the club’s LEC slot this time. The club officially announced that it has sold the LEC slot by posting on the subject on its Twitter account. Following this sale, they cleared out speculations. At the same time, Schalke 04 Esports wrote in a statement that they had financial problems due to the COVID-19 pandemic and the football club’s relegation from the league and that they had no other options.

The club had been in the news several times before regarding their financial rights. Today’s financial news is that Schalke 04 Esports team sold the club’s slot to Swiss club Team BDS for 26.5M€. They had announced this sale in February. Therefore, Team BDS, currently fighting in the French league LFL, will take the stage in the LEC with the 2022 season. Probably the reason why this sales value is incredibly high is because the LEC league is one of the most popular leagues of League of Legends.

The slot, whose value was €8M when the club entered the league, reached a value of €20-30M in February. Besides, it seems to me that the team, whose players are already outstanding, will achieve great success in the upcoming matches. As a result, Schalke 04 Esports enters a new era and league with this move. Let’s see what financial news we will see about Schalke 04 Esports in the future. See you in the next esports news.
