Team Liquid has finally announced the signing of French veteran Richard “shox” Papillon to their CS:GO squad after following weeks of speculation. This announcement comes only two days after Liquid acquired AWPer Joshua “oSee” Ohm from Extra Salt.
The 29-year-old was connected with a move to Liquid back in November when it was revealed that Vitality would be signing the leaving Astralis trio of Emil “Magisk” Reif, Peter “dupreeh” Rasmussen, and Danny “zonic” Srensen by the end of the year.

Shox has played for some of the greatest names on some of the most remarkable squads from his own scene, including Vitality, G2, Titan, and Envy. He is a long-time veteran of the French CS:GO scene. In 2014, he won a Major with LDLC at DreamHack Winter 2014 with defeating NiP, the defending champions at the time. And this is the first time in shox‘s lengthy and famous career that he has ventured outside of the French scene to join an international team. Shox recently left Team Vitality, where he was a key component of the team’s success as well as the meteoric ascent of superstar Mathieu “ZywOo” Herbaut.
Liquid still has to fill a starting roster place, but it also has three past starters on the bench. Just a week before shox was acquired, the organization benched Gabriel “FalleN” Toledo, Jake “Stewie2K” Yip, and Michael “Grim” Wince.
Shox will be part of Liquid‘s CS:GO starting lineup in 2022, alongside oSee, EliGE and NAF.
