Capping off a flawless 2025 with a perfect performance, Team Vitality has concluded the season as the StarLadder Budapest Major 2025 champions!
The French organization defeated FaZe 3-1 in the Grand Final to establish themselves as the kings of CS, securing their second Major trophy of the year. With this achievement, they became the first team since the Astralis era of 2019 to win back-to-back Majors.
Although FaZe kicked off the Grand Final battle with a quick 13-6 victory, Vitality, led by apEX, showcased the success they have built all year. They cruised through the rest of the final stage with scores of 13-3 on Dust II, 13-9 on Inferno, and 13-2 on Overpass.
This championship also holds immense significance for apEX. Equaling the record of 4 Major titles held by Magisk, device, gla1ve, and Xyp9x, apEX has etched his name at the very top. With just one more championship, he will tie dupreeh, who holds the record with 5 titles.
Following a challenging 2025, FaZe experienced a significant resurgence in recent times. They marched confidently to the final stage of the Major, rising to the Grand Final in a tournament where they were not considered favorites. However, they ultimately could not withstand the impeccable team performance displayed by Vitality.
One month ago we were in the worst situation, we fought every day for a month just to stay alive, and we experienced incredible stress throughout all these weeks. I am incredibly proud of my team; today we couldn’t push any further. It was the worst year of my career, but we went all the way to the Grand Final.

Vitality’s star AWPer ZywOo earned the tournament MVP award thanks to his perfect performance at the StarLadder Budapest Major 2025 and his pivotal role in the championship. He stands alone as the only player to possess three Major MVP awards, surpassing legends like device and coldzera. He also tied coldzera’s 2016 record of winning two Major MVPs in a single calendar year.
ZywOo’s hunger for records didn’t stop there. With the MVPs he collected in 2025, he has tied the all-time record set by s1mple in 2021 (8 MVP awards in a year).
Along with the Major title, Vitality secured the $500,000 prize and reclaimed the top spot in the HLTV world rankings. However, they still trail FURIA by 38 points in the Valve standing.
