TENSTAR Nova Became the Champion of VCT Game Changers EMEA Series 2

TENSTAR Nova defeated the Turkish representative Oxxgen Esports in the Grand Final with a score of 3-2 and thus won the second iteration of VCT Game Changers Series. In the final series, which was very tight, both sides gave a great performance to their fans.

TENSTAR Nova eliminated teams like G2 Gozen, Guild X, SMB Fe on the way to the championship. Losing in the Upper Bracket Round 3, the team defeated G2 Gozen 2-0 in the Lower Bracket Final.

TENSTAR CEO Tom Roderick said:

For me, this was a better win than the first one. This win was based on character. We had to draft hard and faced some huge challenges. Lots of teams have lifted their games, in a short period of time. I’m genuinely so proud of our team – especially to overcome Oxxgen after their incredible run.

People are comparing us to Cloud 9 in NA, and they should! We have taken the first 2 GC champs. I’m Nova’s biggest super fan. Let’s see if we can go back to back to back.

Grand Final!

The first match of the Grand Final was on the BIND map. Closing the first half with an 8-4 lead, Oxxgen Esports managed to balance the game in the second half and brought the situation to 1-0 in the final series with a score of 13-10.

The second match was on the ICEBOX map. Closing the first half leading 8-4, Oxygen Esports managed to win with a score of 13-11 in the second half despite the great performance of its opponent and brought the score to 2-0 in the series.

From that moment on, everything depended on the next match for TENSTAR Nova and they played with this in mind.

The third match was on the SPLIT map. Closing the first half leading 7-5, TENSTAR Nova won the second half 13-10 with a good performance and brought the score to 2-1 in the final series. The team at least took a short breath with this win.

The fourth match was on the BREEZE map. Closing the first half with a dominant score of 9-3, TENSTAR Nova continued its good performance in the second half and won with a score of 13-8 and brought the score to 2-2 in the final series.

Making a great comeback, TENSTAR Nova confidently played the last map of the series.

The last match of the Grand Final was played on the ASCENT map. TENSTAR Nova, dominating the first half, closed 10-2 ahead. TENSTAR Nova, who did not let the opponent team breathe in the second half, became the champion.

The breaking point of the Grand Final series was SPLIT. From that moment on, TENSTAR Nova won the series with its dominant game.
