Valve has canceled in-person audience for The International 10. Only teams, talents and essential staff will now be allowed in the event. The company will refund the tickets and the event will take place as planned.
Valve stated that this decision was taken for the safety of everyone who will attend the event.
The following statement came from Valve company.
We wanted nothing more than to welcome fans live to the event, but we can no longer do so in a way that allows us to prioritize the health and well-being of both audience members and participants
Those who purchased tickets will be issued a full refund automatically
These decisions were made just one day after all members of Team Aster and multiple players from Invictus Gaming tested positive for Covid-19.
The event was scheduled to be held in Stockholm, Sweden, but was delayed due to event classification issues with the Swedish government and the Swedish Sports Federation. The postponed event will take place in Bucharest.
The event is scheduled to begin with the group stage on October 7. Valve hasn’t announced a full schedule yet, but said that the tournament would launch without any further delays.
