Valorant Will Have New Weapons, But Not This Year

Valorant, who intends to dethrone CS:GO in the tactical-FPS genre, seems intent on taking it to the next level. The game, which became the favorite game of players before it has reached its first year, never neglects to offer innovations. The game’s designer, Nicholas Wu Smith, announced during his stream that new weapons could come to Valorant. The game, which offers 18 weapons, including knives, seems like it will expand its weaponry. These weapons, which are of six different types in total, seem to cover the entire screen in the upcoming seasons.

The weapons currently in the game are already controversial. Most recently, players and streamers were arguing about the Operator. We’ve also seen players have Phantom-Vandal discussions. Of course, just because a gun is good doesn’t mean you have to use it all the time. The players have the last word on it, so they use the weapon they want. Apart from that, every player already knows their favorite weapons. But when we look at Smith’s statements, it seems like we’re going to be trying more weapons in the future.

Smith, who likes to stream regularly on Twitch, also answers questions from viewers about the game. He said in his recent streams that new weapons could come for Valorant.

“Eventually, We’ll Add New Weapons”

Eventually, we’ll add new weapons. We probably won’t add them this year. Pretty much every weapon in Valorant will be hitscan.

Before we touch on the explanation, let’s talk about what hitscan is. Hitscan is used for weapons that shoot straight into the crosshair you see on the screen. The bullets of these weapons are not affected by gravity, as in Battlefield or Apex Legends.

Smith said that new weapons are not coming to the game this year. So there is no point in players waiting for new weapons for about seven and a half months. According to this statement, we can say that the most notable additions that can come to the game during this period will be agents.

Smith also mentioned a weapon they had before. He told players that they had an automatic sniper rifle, like G3SG1 in CS:GO. But instead, they thought the Guardian could do better things.

Valorant players won’t see new weapons this year, but new agents will, of course, come into the game. Players will have to play with the existing weapons by the end of the year. The fact that a game that was pretty quick to add agents was so wary of adding weapons upset the players a little. However, Smith’s story is not irrevocable, so we may see the opposite in the future.
