Vitality Became The Champion of IEM Winter 2021!

The IEM Winter 2021 tournament, held in Stockholm, Switzerland, came to an end after the amazing grand final series. In the final series between the Vitality-NIP teams, the French representative Vitality, who did not give a chance to his opponent, became the champion with a score of 3-0. The champion team won $100,000 from the prize pool.

The grand final series was very exciting!

In the grand final series, which took place in the Best of 5 format, the NIP team started by banning the Vertigo map. Then Vitality banned the Ancient map. NIP’s first pick was Inferno. But things didn’t go quite as they wanted and they lost to Vitality with a score of 16-10 on the first map they chose.

Vitality chose Dust2 as the second map. Showing a great team play, Vitality won this map with a score of 16-10. With this result, they were very close to the championship, and they won a psychological advantage.

In the grand final series, the champion was determined on the NIP’s chosen Nuke map. In the last map, where both teams did their best, Vitality won against NIP with a score of 16-13 and became the IEM Winter 2021 champion.

The rosters in the grand final series were as follows;

Vitality

One of the NIP players, Nicolas ‘Plopski’ Gonzalez Zamora, played with a rating of 0.94. Unfortunately, he had to settle for second place in the final series, which he came with high hopes for.
