When will Counter-Strike 2 Be Released?

Counter-Strike 2, which is considered the sequel to the popular and iconic FPS game released in 2012, is eagerly awaited by the gaming community. So when will CS2, the continuation of the most popular and iconic FPS game, be released?

Despite being more than a decade old and the Counter-Strike franchise being 22 years old, CS:GO has continued to increase its popularity day by day. As of April 2023, CS:GO has reached approximately 30 million active players and has also set its own record with a total player count of 1.8 million.

Although the player count continues to grow, Valve is aware that the game’s popularity is slowly waning. Therefore, they are working on Counter-Strike 2, which uses the Source 2 engine, with the aim of offering players a fresh and new Counter-Strike experience.

A limited beta version of Counter-Strike 2 was released in March, but it was not made available to a large audience as expected. According to estimates, the number of players who have access to CS2 constitutes only 0.2% of CS:GO players. Most of this group consists of professional players or well-known individuals within the community.

Is there an official release date for Counter-Strike 2?

According to Valve’s statements, Counter-Strike 2 is expected to be released in the summer of 2023. It is expected to be released between June 30 and September 30. However, a new update for limited testing was released on June 6, which included the Mirage map. It is unlikely that this testing period will last only one week.

Based on all available information, it is expected that CS2 will be released in August. CS:GO itself was released on August 21, 2012. It would be a nice nod if CS2 were to be released on the same date in 2023.
