Bymas to miss IEM Katowice 2022 due to COVID-19

MOUZ player Aurimas “Bymas” Pipiras will be unable to help his squad at IEM Katowice 2022 due to the coronavirus he was diagnosed with two days before the tournament’s commencement, the organization announced on Twitter. During the event, Jon “JDC” de Castro from the academy team MOUZ NXT will replace the Lithuanian. The 21-year-old German has tested negative for coronavirus, like the rest of MOUZ, and will be allowed to join the squad in Katowice.

MOUZ had gone through a rebuild in the winter off-season, taking on veteran Nathan “NBK-” Schmitt and former academy AWPer dám “torzsi” Torzsás, and were eager to get off to a fast start in their first event of the year.

Bymas really deserved to play this tournament. The situation is unfortunate. The team has made tremendous progress daily, and this is a true bummer. JDC is a great stand-in though, so let’s go!

  • Jon “JDC” de Castro (Stand-In)
  • Dennis “sycrone” Nielsen (Coach)

MOUZ will start off at the prestigious tournament from the Play-In stage. On February 15, the European team will face off against GODSENT.
