PGL has played many large-scale Counter-Strike tournaments before. They even organized Major Stockholm 2021, the most watched tournament themselves. In 2022, they hosted more than 20 thousand people in Major Antwerp. So the organization has great experience as an esports tournament organizer. It seems that PGL intends to make his first major tournament for Counter-Strike 2 as well.
Following the announcement of the first major tournament, PGL CEO Silviu Stroie made a statement. The CEO expressed his happiness in his statement. He added that their goal for the tournament in 2024 is to break the audience record.
According to the announcement, the first Major tournament for Counter-Strike 2 will be held in March 2024. The tournament is planned to be held in Copenhagen, the capital of Denmark. It was shown as the date between 17 March and 31 March. It was decided that the best 24 teams would participate in the tournament through eliminations.

The prize pool of the tournament will be 1 million 250 thousand dollars. According to expectations, the team that wins the tournament will pocket a big prize of 500 thousand dollars.
