PGL CS:GO Major Antwerp 2022 becomes the largest indoor esports event ever!

The last day of the PGL Major Antwerp 2022 drew over 20.000 CS:GO fans, making it the largest indoor esport tournament ever. The competition also became the second most viewed Counter-Strike event, behind only the PGL Major Stockholm, with over 68 million hours watched.

We are ecstatic to see that all of our hard work has paid off, as we have now hosted the two most-watched Counter-Strike competitions to date. We have been working very hard to improve our broadcast continuously, and these numbers show us that we are on the right path.

Over 20.000 fans watched the dramatic final between FaZe Clan and Na’Vi at the PGL Major Antwerp, breaking the record for the largest indoor esport event of all time. We recorded a whopping 106 decibels generated by the crowd inside the arena as the final unfolded.

PGL has held the two most successful Counter-Strike tournaments of all time, with a peak audience of 2.1 million and over 68 million hours viewed during the course of the competition according to escharts.com.

The crowd was absolutely fantastic, and the atmosphere was maybe the best there has ever been at an event like this. Together with the entire CS:GO community, we have taken this passion of ours to entirely new heights in the past couple of months. We are incredibly grateful for all the feedback from the audience that has helped us get to this position.

It all started with 52 teams competing for a chance to play in front of an exuberant audience at Sportpaleis Antwerpen, Belgium, and a chance to be crowned the finest team in the world during the previous month.

Over 40.000 individuals attended the event, with over 20.000 shouting Counter-Strike supporters filling the arena on the last day.
