Valve Announced Changes to RMR Invitation System

Valve has announced on its official website that the invitation format to RMR events has been changed.

Until now, the RMR tournament participants were the teams that got directly invited based on previous major results, along with the open qualifier winners. With the new rules, the teams who aren’t directly invited will get to skip the open qualifiers and go directly to a closed qualifier. Also, the teams who perform well consistently on Valve or third-party events will be directly invited to a closed qualifier.

The new changes will take effect starting from the next upcoming major tournament, BLAST Paris Major 2023. The event will take place from May 8 to May 21. The RMRs that determine the participants of this tournament will start on April 3.
