23-year-old South African professional CS:GO player Aran “Sonic” Groesbeek, has announced his retirement on Twitter. He plans to do business in the United States in the future.
Sonic has been competing in video games for the past eight years. He has established himself as one of the most successful professional CS:GO gamers in South Africa throughout this period.

Groesbeek has played for Bravado, ATK, Envy, Cloud9, and Extra Salt, among others. Extra Salt was his most successful project, and he won various regional tournaments in North America in 2021, as well as finishing second at Funspark ULTI 2020. After six months of inactivity, the South African retired. Then he said that the choice was made due to accumulated psychological exhaustion.
