Nintendo made several announcements during the Nintendo Direct E3 2021. A relatively good year full of good games awaits Nintendo fans.
Shin Megami Tensei V
The long-running Shin Megami Tensei V will launch exclusively on Switch on November 12. Players will engage in a relentless struggle with demons to save the world.
Metroid Dread
Despite Metroid Prime 4 being under construction, the Metroid Prime series has been dormant for a long time. During Nintendo Direct, the company announced another Metroid game called Metroid Dread. The game is 2D but has incredible 3D models. It comes out on October 8th.
WarioWare Get It Together
Minigame-packed WarioWare returns. WarioWare: Get It Together will have lots of super short mini-games and multiplayer. It’s coming out for Switch on September 10.
Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin
Ahead of its July 9 release date, a brand new trailer Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin was released, showing us more of the game’s universe.
Mario Party Superstars
Mario Party Superstars will be the newest game in the beloved Mario Party series. The game will include 100 mini-games from the series’ past. Mario Party Superstars will be available on October 29, 2021.
Super Monkey Ball
It’s been 20 years since the first Super Monkey Ball game. Super Monkey Ball Banana Mania will include the first three games in the series: Super Monkey Ball, Super Monkey Ball 2 and Super Monkey Ball Deluxe. It is coming on October 5th.
Life is Strange
Life is Strange: True Colors will bring Alex’s story and her Empathy powers to Nintendo Switch on September 10. The Life Is Strange Remastered Collection, which includes Life Is Strange and Life Is Strange: Before the Storm, will also arrive on Switch.
Fatal Frame: Maiden of Black Water
Fatal Frame: Maiden of Black Water is a horror-adventure game that requires you to drive out ghosts. Players will explore the ethereal but deadly Mt. Hikami. The game, will be released later in the year. Fatal Frame has more than one protagonist, and will also allow the player to experience the story from different angles.
Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy: Cloud Version
Developed by Eidos Montreal, Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy includes an original story. It’s a single-player adventure game and has an interesting mechanic, that combines real-time action with special moves and team management. It’s coming to Switch on October 26, as a cloud streamed game.
Advance Wars 1+2: Re-Boot Camp
Advance Wars was a turn-based strategy game first released in the US on the Game Boy Advance. The series was unfortunately forgotten by Nintendo. But the first two Advance War games, Advance Wars and Advance Wars: Black Hole Rising, are returning to Switch as Advance Wars 1+2: Re-Boot Camp. The game will be released on December 3rd.
Danganronpa Decadence
Danganronpa: Trigger Happy Havoc Anniversary Edition, Danganronpa 2: Goodbye Despair Anniversary Edition, Danganronpa V3: Killing Harmony Anniversary Edition and Danganronpa S: Ultimate Summer Camp are all coming to Switch through Danganronpa Decadence collection. It will be available sometime later this year.
The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild
The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild 2 will be released in 2022. We also got our first new look at the highly anticipated sequel since it was announced at E3 2019. This new trailer shows Link ascending into the skies of Hyrule as new floating islands appear on the map. We also take a look at some of Link’s new weapons and abilities. Hyrule Castle also floating above the ground, looks menacing as always.
