Sony & Microsoft Stop Sales in Russia!

Sony and Microsoft have decided to stop sales in Russia. This happened several days later, after Ukrainian Deputy Prime Minister Mykhailo Fedorov called on video game companies (especially PlayStation and Xbox) to stop sales in Russian markets.

On Friday, Gran Turismo 7 was released everywhere except Sony’s Russian PlayStation Store. Microsoft also has suspended all sales of new products and services in Russia. Electronic Arts has also suspended all sales of games and digital currencies in Russia and Belarus.

In the Russian PlayStation store, the release date of Gran Turismo 7 still appears to be “pending”. Although Sony pulled the game from sale in Russia, it has not yet made an official statement about the decision.

Meanwhile, Microsoft President Brad Smith did not directly mention the Xbox, but announced in a blog post that the company is suspending its sales in Russia.

Other video game companies have also expressed their support for Ukraine in recent days. For example, CD Projekt closed digital sales of their games to Russia and Belarus. The developers behind the Pokemon series have also made the same move.

Following the decision to remove the Russian National Team and all Russian clubs from the EA Sports FIFA series, Electronic Arts has issued a new statement announcing its decision to suspend all sales and remove games in Russia and Belarus.

Russian Nintendo eShop has also suspended all of its digital purchases.
