The organization confirmed that BLAST Premier will host the first Major CS:GO tournament of 2023 in the capital of France, Paris. Parisians and all CS:GO fans around the world can watch the tournament on May 8-21. Before the tournament, RMR qualifiers, which will be played in February and March, will determine the teams that will participate in the main stage.
The Danish organizers will also host the first Major event in France. Until now, no major CS:GO tournament played in the French territory. One of the reasons this is happening is French President Emmanuel Macron. Macron expressed a desire to host a CS:GO major as well as other esports events, in an election campaign in April.
Macron also posted a tweet before the BLAST’s announcement on Sunday, announcing that France will host the CS:GO BLAST Major in the Accor Arena in May. BLAST’s boss, Robbie Douek, promised that the event will meet the expectations of the community.
Paris is a world class location to host the tournament and will precede another high profile international event in the 2024 Paris Olympics and Paralympics.
Next year marks 10 years of Majors and we are highly confident of marking this occasion by delivering the greatest Major to date for CS:GO fans to experience and enjoy.
Robbie Douek, CEO of BLAST
