The Indian government has released a list of 54 new apps that are officially banned in the country. This list contains several “clones” or copies of previously banned Chinese apps, and also includes popular mobile battle royale Free Fire.
A few Chinese apps were initially banned by the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) of India. This action was first taken in 2020. After several waves of bans, the total number of apps restricted in India has exceeded 270.
Here is the list of 54 apps that were banned in India:

Free Fire was removed from the Apple App Store this week and was soon removed from the Google Play Store as well. Some players also reported that their games were not working very well and they encountered problems logging in.
Battlegrounds Mobile India is seemingly safe in this wave of bans. PUBG Mobile was banned in India for over a year, but Battlegrounds Mobile India (BGMI) was not included in the list of recently banned apps.
BGMI may be safe as the 2022 Asian Games are coming soon and PUBG Mobile is one of the games included. Each participating country will send their own team to this first official Asian Games esports event, and the game won’t be hindered this time, considering the fact that India has some of the best PUBG Mobile squads in the world.
