Yesterday, The Sims 4 Paranormal Stuff Pack was announced. The new stuff pack will be available on 26 January.
The Sims 4 team seem to acknowledge all the criticisms because the last 2 pack announcements really hyped the fans. After having a year full of drama with the Star Wars pack being the last drop, The Sims 4 had some really cool updates, which the game hopelessly needed. At last, with the free skin colour update, The Sims team really showed that they are taking all comments from fans seriously.
The new pack, The Sims 4 Paranormal Stuff Pack, obviously, will be a stuff pack. We know that The Sims team have an agenda for the new pack releases. In certain times of the year a new expansion pack is revealed; and in some a new game pack, and in some a stuff pack. The last pack that we got was an expansion pack. The main difference here is the number of things the packs bring to the game.
For example, the last expansion pack, Snowy Escape was so extensive that we almost got a whole new game to play. However, the last game pack with the Star Wars theme was more of an experience. It did not bring so much new stuff to the game, so most of the players simply finished the new world once or twice, and never contributed those elements to any other gameplays they created. You might think that a stuff pack would not be exciting, yet The Sims 4 Paranormal Stuff Pack is surely looking bomb!
The Sims 4 Paranormal Stuff Pack
Even though this is just a stuff pack, The Sims team offers us some of the most wanted features with this pack. However, I would really like to see this game as an expansion, or at least as a game pack with more features like creating a werewolf or a fairy, like in The Sims 3 Supernatural.
If we look at what the pack offers us:
- 1 New Lot Trait – With the new Haunted House Lot Trait, we will be able to add more spice to our builds and make them super spooky!
- 1 New Gameplay – With Host a Seance in-game action, we will be able to summon spirits! (How Chilling Adventures of Sabrina is this, right!)
- 1 New Career – With Paranormal Investigator career option, we will be able to help those who experience with the ‘paranormal’ – and earn some simoleons while doing it!
- And lots of new items!
I can’t help but wonder, was the Haunted House Lot Trait really necessary? We already have the lot traits ‘Haunted’ and ‘Cursed’. Of course it is nice to see new updates, but I would like to see this pack be more intertwined with the previous packs, and make a use out of the traits we already have.
The Host a Seance feature looks really cool. In the reveal trailer, we see some Sims gather around a magic ball and do some sort of a ritual. This new gipsy feeling gameplay option is for sure one of the best things about the pack.
As for the Paranormal Investigator career option, I think that it is really nice thought. I can’t wait to play with this option, which for sure will be filled with Ghostbusters easter eggs!
The new build and CAS items also look good. But, I want to talk about ‘someone’ special. In the trailer, we see Bonehilda in a quick glimpse! This is definitely one of the most wanted updates for The Sims 4, and now it seems that we are finally getting what we have always wanted.
