0

The last games are being played in the Valorant Spike Nations tournament . In the competitive tournament, the group stage was completed and Turkey’s opponent was determined as England. Our representative Turkey, managed to come to the semi-finals undefeated and was considered as one of the favorites. England was one of the toughest teams and finished in second place in Group B. Therefore, Turkey didn’t have a chance to make a mistake.

Spike Nations Turkey vs. England

In the Spike Nations semi-final, played in the Bo1 format, the first map was Haven. Our representative started the match as the Attackers. Turkey had an unsuccessful first half, and finished behind England by 10-2. Turkey‘s motivation was falling down because of the first half, and they had to recover in the second half. Our team moved to the Defenders side in the second half. Turkey returning to life again, our representative managed to bring the score from 12-4 to 12-10. At that time, we were all watching the perfect comeback. But it wasn’t enough for more, England managed to win the match by 13-10. Turkey was defeated.

Congrats! Our representatives made us proud with their legendary performance at the Spike Nations semi-finals. Bravo guys!
Thanks to @berkercs for his exciting presentation, and thanks to especially our representatives and everyone who shared our enthusiasm.

Thus, our representatives said goodbye to the tournament because of their loss. On the other hand, England earned to go to the Valorant Spike Nations final.

The other team that will attend the Valorant Spike Nations final will be the winner of the fight between Spain and Portugal.

Turkey made a very successful start but actually, it was not a success completely. We hope we can succeed next time. Also, we thank our Turkey representatives for the beautiful game they put for us to watch and wish them continued success.

Turkey’s representative 9INE got disqualified from Nine to Five 6 Dawn tournament.

In the previous days, Turkey’s successful representative 9INE managed to rise up to the closed eliminations in the DreamHack Masters. After that, 9INE lost against Gambit in the closed eliminations and said a rather quick goodbye to the tournament.

After their achievement, 9INE announced their invitation to participate in the Nine To Five 6 Dawn tournament yesterday. However, today, 9INE announced that they have been disqualified from the tournament. Allegedly, the team’s entry fragger Doğukan “QutionerX” Dural‘s old account has VAC (Valve Anti-Cheat) Ban and this led to the disqualification.

Yasin “xfl0ud” Koç tweeted about the situation:

Disqualified from 9to5 #6 and blacklisted whole tournament 🙂 Congrats to you, you have supported us all the way and now helped us again. I hope all the sacrifices, effort, time was not all for nothing…

xfl0ud

Caner “CyderX” Demir tweeted about the situation, also:

We got kicked out of 9 to 5. I Can’t believe what we have to deal with; as if the game is not hard enough. I am really upset. We have been playing and fighting to reach the top-level together for years, but this last incident…

CyderX

We want to state that, we will always support our representative 9INE. Also, we wish them success on their esports journey.

9INE’s Failure in DreamHack Masters Winter Season

0

9INE, who managed to go from open elimination to closed elimination, lost their first match in the closed eliminations. 9INE’s failure made us disappointed. Because in the open eliminations, 9INE was really good at getting over the popular and talented opponents.

Our representative, who managed to participate in the DreamHack Masters Winter closed eliminations by defeating serious teams such as HellRaisers, BudaPest Five, and LDLC in the open qualifiers, unfortunately, lost by 2-1 against the Russian team Gambit in the first match of the closed qualifiers.

During the match played in Bo3 format, our representative 9INE banned the Train map. Then the Russian team banned the Nuke map. 9INE used the first map selection for Dust2. Their opponents chose the map for Overpass. After the selections, the parties banned the Mirage and Inferno maps, and the Vertigo map remained.

The Progress of the Match

There were contentious moments in the Dust2, which is our representative’s choice. Our representative 9INE who closed the first half ahead by 8-7, in the second half continued to win with a 16-12 score. So they made the score as 1-0.

In the Overpass, chosen by the Russian representative Gambit, closed the first half by beating 9INE with a score of 10-5. Although he did his best in the second half, he couldn’t change the situation and the Gambit team won the second map 16-9. With this victory, the Russian team brought the situation to 1-1 and secured a tie.

In Vertigo, the last map, there were once again very controversial moments. They closed the first half with the Russian team ahead by 8-7. In the second half, the situation did not change again. Gambit team took 8 rounds again and won the map by 16-14. Thus, although our representatives did their best, they lost by 2-1 in general. Thus, our representatives could not pass the DreamHack Masters Winter 2020 eliminations. 9INE’s failure caused them to say goodbye to the tournament.

We congratulate our representative 9INE team for this outstanding effort and wish them continued success.

0

Sangal Esports, who gets the chance to stay in the ESEA Advanced Season 35 playoffs, played its first playoff match. Sangal Esports competed against Wygers in the ESEA Advanced Season 35 playoffs. Our talented representative won the game with a 2-1 score. Sangal, who is also successfully on the MDL path, will play against the Swedish team Cream Real Betis in the playoffs. Sangal Esports made a Twitter post about their win.

We managed to go to the next round by winning against the Wygers team by 2-1 in our first match in the ESEA Advance Playoffs.

Our representatives, who preferred to play on the Inferno map first, won their first match with a very good performance. Sangal, who had the power with an 11-4 score at first, took 5 more rounds in the second half without a break and won the Inferno map by 16-4.

Waygers made the second map selection and the second map became Vertigo. The Spanish team closed the first half ahead by 9-6. In the second half, although our representatives did their best, they could not escape from defeat. Waygers team got a 16-14 score win with the map which was chosen by them.

The last map was Nuke. Sangal Esports recovered their strength and finished the first half ahead with an 11-4 score. Waygers, who managed to get ahead in the second half, could not win, no matter how hard they tried.

Our Interview with Mete Sevinç, General Manager and Coach of Fastpay WildCats

0

Our Interview with Mete Sevinç, General Manager and Coach of Fastpay WildCats

We made an interview with Mete Sevinç, who is the coach and general manager of fastpay WildCats since the year 2019. We asked some of the most wondered questions and got answers. But before that, who is Mete Sevinç?

Who is Mete Sevinç?

Mete”Robogod” Sevinç was born in Germany in 1988. He completed his elementary education in Cappadocia, Nevşehir and graduated from Istanbul University. Other than his bachelor’s degree, he gained experience by becoming the coordinator and arranger in several programs.

Sevinç, who is interested in many different games, started his professional esports career by establishing Team Cappadocia. He got an offer from ‘Çilekler’ and became the coach of the club. After that, he agreed to become the coach of HWA in 2018. In 2019, the name HWA was changed into Istanbul Wildcats. Mete Sevinç is continuing to achieve big accomplishments for both his team and himself.

Interview

Kaan Peker:

As we all know, you have had a successful season, but lost against 5Ronin in the VFŞL 2020 Summer Season Semi-Finals. Well, what could you do better to win and what was missing in your team?

Mete Sevinç:

The end of the season is hard for a lot of teams and players. Covid made it extra hard. We could not get out of the Gaming House because of Covid. Staying at home for a long time really tired the players mentally. When we went out for the match, we knew that we were not ready, we needed a mental reset.

K.P: How can we become a coach?

M.S: In Turkey, you can become a coach simply by writing ‘coach’ before your nickname, I’m serious . If you want to be a good coach, you need to improve yourself both in game and outside of the game. I say after being a player, be an analyst and then a coach. This is the right path for it.

K.P: You were considered worthy of the ‘coach of the year’ award, we would also like to congratulate you. How did this happen? How did you train the players? If it wasn’t you, who should have won?

M.S: The secret behind our success is hard work and discipline. If we keep this attitude, we will be successful in the global arena as well. The winner was selected with the votes of other coaches and hosts. We own the title of youngest leader in the history of the league. If it was not me, Şükrü “CristoL” Aykut Yeşilkaya should have won the award.

K.P: In social media, the team is often considered as the ‘Academy League players’ etc. and I suppose that this is because you played in the Academy League with your main roster and became the champion 2 years in a row. But why do you play in the Academy League with your main team? Is the reason for it is more training for the main team? What do you think about this?

M.S: When the roster is planned, it is planned for one year. It will hurt to make changes in the team while they are doing good. We made our plans for one year. When the team made it to the finals, we stood out. Otherwise, I think 5 or 6 teams played with their main rosters in the first season. Since we were the ones that made it to the finals and became the champions 3 times in a row, we were the ones that stood out the most. When we became the academy champions for the first time, we became the champion with the youngest team in the Academy League in that time. We are the team that brought the most new players to the league.

K.P: It was announced that you made deals with Starscreen, Ferret and Serin for the next season. Do you have other transfer plans? What is waiting for us in fastPay Wildcats in the next season?

M.S: Our goal is to always bring new players to the industry and become the champion. We will keep these goals in the next season too.

K.P: In Twitter, you made a post stating that VFŞL did not appreciate the coaches enough. What was the reason for this? How do you think this can be fixed?

Mete Sevinç’s Take on the Team Announcements

M.S: I am both the general manager and the coach of the team. I actually stated that for my other coach friends. The things that motivate the coaches to stay in the field are limited. Why would a player want to become a coach after they quit playing? Coaches are way behind in sports, this goes for LoL too. Your name appears in the top, small corner during champion selection and that’s all. There are too little things they can do to change this.

K.P: As far as we know, you are both the general manager and the coach of fastPay Wildcats. What advantages does this have while scouting? Can you talk about the pros and cons of the situation?

M.S: It helps me decide faster. Sometimes, my workload becomes really heavy but my friends in the coach team help me with it, and I help them too. I can say that the biggest advantage is; I am the general manager that the players will complain about the coach. To sum up, it is crucial that the coach has the authority. This is especially important in our country.

K.P: You are one of the clubs that care for woman players; will we see more woman players in the future?

M.S: We are the only team that lets woman players play in both the championship league and academy and wins. We want to see more. In order for this to happen, woman players should try harder and we should support them more.

K.P: In which situations should we give more importance to lane pushing and what are the champions that are both compatible with the team and pushes the lanes fast? (A follower question)

M.S: In the beginning of the game, river control is important. After that, many champions pushes the lanes easily. Quite a few champions push the lanes fast. It depends on the pick in each lane.

K.P: What do you think about the foreign investments in our league? An Arabic club is investing in Royal Youth, what do you think about it? Will the value of the league go up or down? Many people reacted to this badly, how was your reaction?

M.S: We should check the Euro – TL exchange difference. It is nice that there are investments, however the only topic that sticks in my mind is; there is great efforts, then investments. However, one year after becoming the champion, the team vanishes. This is upsetting. This depends on the new team’s investment. If they invest, they will be in the top bench; otherwise, they are doomed to be in the lower benches. I am quite positive because this will draw the attention of many foreigner investors. As a region, we need the investment. Time will show.

K.P: Lastly, is there anything you want to say to fastPay Wildcats fans through Esport Times?

M.S: Thank you for your support, take care. #Gowild
