Things haven’t been going so well for Nexplay lately. Nexplay EVOS training camp, an educational camp, has recently come to the fore with the allegations of bad of administration.
According to the claims of Nexplay EVOS professional and talented gamer Setsuna “Dogie” Ignacio, the bootcamp is very poorly managed. In one of his stream, he voiced his complaints about Nexplay Evos Boot Camp mismanagement. players were reported to be drinking every weekend. Especially during the MPL season, this situation led to the deterioration of the team. This event resulted in the sudden departure of one of the team’s star players, Renejay “RENEJAY” Barcarse, from the team’s training camp in the middle of Mobile Legends Professional League (MPL) Philippines (PH) Season 8.
Dogie Talks About RENEJAY’s Breakup
Upon this breakup, Dogie reported that members broke the imposed house rules.
Who was drinking there every Saturday and Sunday? Who allowed girls to disturb their practice? While they were practicing, someone was recording them, posting on their “My Day” (Facebook),
Professional gamer Dogie also said that boot camp isn’t a bar and he did not expect mismanagement of this scale.
That’s a boot camp and not a bar. Is that a bar? You transferred the kids. Then you brought them to Manila, just to have drinking sessions every Saturday and Sunday? Is that right? Is that permitted? Ok? Boot camp is an office. If you’re working, do you drink while in the office? That’s what I want to know.
Dogie said that when there was trouble, Nexplay’s Head of Business Development and Partnerships, Adrian Rob Son, disappeared from the scene. However, he claims that two members of the administration, Baby Ignacio and Macy Kalaw, were present at the boot camp located in Manila, Philippines.

Dogie added that he is open to anything, as long as it is done responsibly. RENEJAY’s parents stated that they went to the boot camp. But they couldn’t find anyone to talk to. RENEJAY’s family expressed that this situation also disappointed them.
Then he uploaded a vlog where RENAJAY and his father explain their story. RENEJAY said random people are also allowed to enter the boot camp. He even added that they started shooting indoors without permission from the players.

When asked by Dogie to RENEJAY’s father, he said that when he visited the training camp, he called management but there was no one to talk to him. He added that Baby Ignacio was there. But Macy Kalaw was still asleep during visiting hours.

In Dogie’s vlog, RENEJAY stated that he wanted to play in the second week of the MPL season. He claims that his team lacked communication while playing their matches.
It’s not that I think my team lost because of me, I just think they don’t communicate enough. H2wo gets lost because no one was there to remind him. I was the one who always reminds him in-game.

According to RENEJAY, Jhon “H2wo” Salonga stated that Nexplay EVOS star rookie Jhonwin “Hesa” Vergara was really strong, but he did not communicate much with the team.

Baby Ignacio Apologizes For Mismanagement!
Nexplay EVOS team manager Baby Ignacio responded to Dogie. She apologized for the recent mismanagement and stated that she would take full responsibility. She also announced that the management will apply stricter house rules from now on.
I just wanted to say sorry for my mismanagement and I will take accountability for everything that Brother Dogs said, everything that Renejay expressed that made him leave the NXP boot camp.

These events in Week 1 of MPL PH Season 8 also badly affected the performances of the players and team. After Dogie’s live stream, Baby Ignacio explained what happened at the camp to clarify things. The executive added that the video was not made to deny the allegations or to defend herself. According to Baby Ignacio, the staff held a party to encourage “connection” with the team as they celebrated their first week at their new boot camp.
Boys and Girls Will Not Be Able to Visit Each Other!
The mistake is we overdid it, in a way, Brother Dogs was right in asking why we let the girls visit the boot camp for boys.

Ignacio explained that Dogie was talking about girls who were members of Nexplay Tempest. They are the all-female Wild Rift esports team.
Since the incident, the administration has enforced stricter rules at the training camp. Both teams are now banned from visiting each other. In addition, drinking and partying are no longer allowed. Penalties such as fines and termination will be applied to those who violate the rules. It looks like the Nexplay EVOS boot camp will be more careful about management.
Latest Situation in the Esport Industry
Nexplay EVOS is currently in the bottom spot with a 0-2 record. The team hopes to return in Week 2 of MPL PH Season 8. In addition an opening match is scheduled against ONIC PH on September 3, 2021 at 18:00 (PHT).
